QB Testing for ADHD
At New Dawn Psychiatric Care, we’re proud to offer QB Testing, a groundbreaking, FDA-cleared and CE-marked tool that provides an objective way to measure the core symptoms of ADHD — activity, attention, and impulsivity. Backed by years of research, this computer-based test helps our clinicians deliver accurate, efficient, and personalized diagnostic evaluations for both children and adults.
What Is QB Testing?
The QB Test (Quantified Behavioral Test) is a computer-based assessment designed to complement clinical evaluations for ADHD. In just 15–20 minutes, it provides measurable data that helps distinguish between typical attention patterns and those consistent with ADHD.
During the test, you’ll sit in front of a computer and complete a simple task while an infrared camera tracks your movements. The system records your activity, focus, and impulsivity levels and compares them to a control group of the same age and gender who do not have ADHD—eliminating the risk of gender bias in results.
Once completed, your results are automatically generated and presented in a detailed, easy-to-understand report.
QB Testing enhances diagnostic accuracy and helps guide more effective treatment planning. When used alongside other clinical measures and cognitive assessments, it offers a clearer picture of how ADHD affects your daily functioning.
According to the AQUA study, clinicians and families have seen significant benefits from using QB Testing:
-
94% of clinicians reported a greater understanding of patients’ symptoms
-
20% reduction in clinical workload time
-
85% of families found the test helpful in understanding ADHD
-
153-day reduction from initial assessment to diagnosis
In addition, the test can be repeated later to measure how well treatments—such as medication or behavioral strategies—are working over time.
What to Expect During the Test
The QB Test is simple, noninvasive, and takes about 15–20 minutes to complete.
- You’ll wear a lightweight headband with a reflective marker.
- You’ll sit in front of a computer screen and respond to symbols by pressing a button when prompted.
- An infrared camera records your movements throughout the task, capturing data on focus, reaction time, and motor activity.
The process is comfortable, straightforward, and suitable for both children and adults.
